8 Weeks

Well, I don't have much news. I'm still extremely tired. I continue to be in disbelief about how tired I actually get each day. Then, I think that there's no way to get more tired than this and that I have to start getting more energy back and nope, more tired the next day. Thankfully the fatigue doesn't hit until about 4:00 so I can get through a day at work okay and get home in time to take a nap. I don't have much energy at work and find myself being much crankier than normal but I make it through the day. Luckily... I only have one more week of school!! Then I am off for the summer. (But start clinic for graduate school in July) so I really only have a few weeks off.
I also am very bloated and find that after I eat my stomach bloats. It's strange. I can button my pants before I go out then after I eat a meal, I can't button my pants anymore. According to all the reading I'm doing this is normal, but I find it strange. I am having random back aches but I attribute that to my tiredness and my body being tired.

I'm excited to start figuring out what we are going to do in the nursery but I keep telling myself that we have plenty of time to work on that and not to worry about doing that now and to just rest while I can!

My mom bought us a baby names book so Aaron and I have already started discussing names. Oh there are so many decisions!

My next appointment is July 9, which will be my first official Prenatal appointment and I will be about 12 weeks pregnant at that point. My Doctor said it would be a long appointment full of paperwork and lots of bloodwork so while I'm excited to have another appointment because it means I'm farther along and that much closer to meeting my baby, but I don't like bloodwork!!! So I'm dreading that. But Aaron is coming so I'll be fine :)

7 Weeks

This weekend marked the end of my seventh week of pregnancy. I have had no new pregnancy symptoms, just extreme fatigue. All the books I'm reading have warned me about the contstant tiredness and how I can expect to feel exhausted pretty much all day long but I didn't think it would be so bad. I am exhausted all day long. I have been going to bed really early and still getting up tired. I am also extremely bloated. My pants are already getting very snug and some are already difficult to button. I know this is nothing more than bloat but it's frustrating. However, if these are the only symptoms I get, I'm happy! :) I have been reading so much about pregnancy to make sure I know everything I possibly can and all the books suggest most first trimester symptoms (morning sickness specifically) appear between 6-8 weeks. So, that's where I am right now and I'm still feeling good! I did have my first rough day today at work but I think it was a combination of my pants being too tight and hurting my bloated stomach and being exhausted.

I have had some of my first cravings. The other night we were having turkey burgers for dinner and I had a craving for baked beans as well. This is the most random craving for me because I don't even really like baked beans! When I have been somewhere that baked beans were offered, I don't usually take any. This craving was so bizarre to me, but sure enough, I drove to the grocery store and had my baked beans with dinner.

On a random note, I am continuing to exercise and try to eat as healthy as I can. I ran the Race for the Cure 5K this weekend. My doctor had said running was fine as long as I am continuing what I was doing before I was pregnant and not starting a new workout program and to keep my heart rate down and my body temperature down. Because of this I was a little concerned about running the 5K because I thought it would be hard to not overheat and be too tired. However, I felt great! I ran the whole thing and kept a slow pace so my heart wasn't racing and because it was so early in the morning and a beautiful day I wasn't too hot at all. I also am taking yoga classes to work on my flexibility. Let's just hope I don't fall asleep during class! :)
